Rose is the second female warrior you receive in the game. She is physically stronger than Shana and it is best to remove Shana from the party at this point. Rose is a much cheaper character as Shana's strength is attack items. Rose enters the party with quite decent stats however they taper off at higher levels. Her HP is the second lowest in the game and her speed is average. Physically, Rose is the strongest female character in the game with the highest strength and defence. Rose is an attacker. Her additions are easy to complete and are powerful. Her final addition can be obtained by level 19. Only one of Rose's additions a designed for Dragoon leveling so Rose will generally have a high damage %.
Rose joins the part at a time when you could use another legitimate attacker. She also comes with a Dragoon Spirit, another attractive feature. Your next Dragoon Spirit does not show up for awhile, Shana doesn't andget hers for a few more dungeons. All the females have better magic stats than their male counterparts so Rose will get decent results with magical items. Rose also gets the only helmet equipment that can block instant death.

Rose also comes with her Dragoon Spirit so Dragoon leveling is also quick to complete. It is possible to have 'Demon's Dance' and 'Dark Dragon' very early in the game. Rose also comes with a healing spell as her initial spell. However unlike Shana, this spell does damage and heals the entire party slightly. This spell is one of the most useful spells in the game and has low MP usage. Rose gets a larger defense boost to both physical and magical defense while Dragoon, helping her conserve her low HP.
Rose remains a desirable addition to the party for the entire game, able to attack and heal while a Dragoon, having high-end additions early in the game and being able to equip weapons that cause status ailments. She also gets the most powerful weapon at the end of the game which is another reason to keep her around. Simply equip a 'Dragon Helm 'to boost her HP and 'Dancer Shoes' to boost her speed and Rose will be one of the most powerful characters you have.
