Dragon Campaign
"Seven incarnations of Dragons served the Emperor; their bravery inspired people to take up arms."
The Dragon Campaign was a war to free Humans from Wingly subjugation. The Winglies ruled over all species before them and used them as slaves. Their rational was that as the 106th species, it was their right to protect and rule over those beneath them. However those enslaved were dominated and abused. In anger, the Humans rose up lead by the Holy Emperor Diaz. With seven Dragoons by his side, their bravery inspired people to fight back against those that caused them injustice. After many years of suffering on both sides, the Humans defeated the Winglies and the Age of Humans began.
History
"The earth of Saint Imperial Gloriano was scorched by the gods' fire and became ashen."
Many legends of the Dragon Campaign survived. Most of them were a summary of events in old manuscripts. The only ones who were aware of these tales were scholars and royalty. Emperor Diaz was always responsible for victory as the Holy Imperial Gloriano. The Dragoons were never mentioned by name, only that there were seven and they fought as Diaz's strongest force. None of the paintings or murals accurately depicted the Dragoons or Diaz, likely because they had been created over 11,000 years. Any original and accurate portrait would have likely been lost over the years.
The legends agree that Diaz rose up when human anger could no longer be controlled. The anger and sadness of the people fueled the Dragoon's cause to fight. More and more restrictive laws caused this anger. Melbu Frahma pushed bills though Zenebatos that made it law to worship Winglies and that all human lands was to be repossessed. He also declared that only Winglies had the right to live and often had coliseum battles in Kadessa. These battles always involved the dominated species and were always to the death. All of these factors lead to human revolt and this revolt gave power to Diaz and the Dragoons.
The manuscripts mentioned that Humans freed the Gods from the Winglies' control. This likely referred to the destruction of the Crystal Sphere however the significance and danger that action caused was either never recorded or was lost. Humans believed the Gods returned to the Moon That Never Sets to watch over Endiness. Only a select few survived to the present day with the true knowledge of the Campaign.
Truth
"After the Campaign, all the records of Dragoons vanished. I wonder if they all died during the campaign."Rose knew what happened during this time more than anyone alive. While Charle also knew much about these events, she was not in Kadessa during the final battle. Rose was and is the only living person to experience that hell.
Both Damia and Syuveil likely died before Kadessa. This left Shirley, Belzac, Kanzas, Rose and Zieg to launch the attack. Diaz died during the Dragon Campaign and it's possible he died during the Battle of Kadessa. One by one the Dragoons were defeated and killed by Virage until only Zieg and Rose were left. Kanzas blew himself up to defeat a Super Virage. 11,000 years later, Rose would discover it had not been finished off and was resting in the Forbidden Land. Belzac and Shirley died at the same time, both crushed under a slab of stone Belzac could no longer hold. Zieg impaled Melbu Frahma on his sword after an impressed battle with the dictator and the Dragon Buster. However Zieg succumb to a petrification spell and Rose was forced to leave him for dead.
Of the Dragoons and Dragons, only Rose and Michael survived. Rose was left alone and bitter. She eventually returned to Charle and learned the truth of Zieg's actions. He had broken the Crystal Sphere and the Virage Embryo would now been born. It would return to the Moon That Never Sets, become the God of Destruction and destroy the world. Rose would not let this happen. To protect the Dragon Campaign and her precious friends' actions, she became a monster.
